We match the pressure and technique to the timber's type and condition, and use cleaning products to do the heavy lifting where the wood is soft or older.
Should I clean the deck before staining or oiling it?
Yes, it's essential. Stain and oil won't bond to dirt, mould or old flaking coatings. A proper clean gives you a sound, uniform surface, and after a few dry days the timber is ready to coat. Cleaning first is the difference between a finish that lasts and one that peels.
Can you clean painted or stained fences?
Yes. We use a gentler wash on coated timber so we clean the surface without stripping the finish. If the coating is already failing and flaking, we'll point that out honestly. Sometimes a clean-and-recoat is the better spend.
